HEIGHT:50 - 65 feet
SPREAD:16 - 23 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Older trees known for their long, pendulous branchlets which can be 7'-8' in length, formal pyramidal shape when young; needles glossy, dark green above, gray-green below, 1.5" long, forward pointing; cones 3"-6" long, red-brown when mature; full sun or partial shade.
LIMITATIONS:Growth is slow, faster with grafted forms; few trees planted in Alaska.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 5) also listed as Zones 3-4 in some references
ORIGIN:Siskiyou Mountains of Oregon and California at about 7,000'.
CULTIVARS:Limited, but available.
