HEIGHT:2 - 4 feet
SPREAD:3 - 6 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Most commonly available shrub form of Norway spruce; dense and spreading; nest-like shape, lower in the center than on the outside edges; very slow growing; tolerates some shade; excellent shrub for south central and southeast where old specimens can be 5 feet tall; loses bird's nest shape with age.
LIMITATIONS:Bird's nest shape ruined if a branch suffers die-back; needs winter protection in Fairbanks and on windy sites
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN:Found in Germany in 1904.
