DISTINCTIONS:Small needle-like leaves; a dense, spreading groundcover, 6" high; tolerates some shade and moist soil; inconspicuous purplish flowers; many edible but tasteless black fruits, which are often confused with blueberries.
LIMITATIONS:Limited experience with cultivation.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE, W (Zone 1)
ORIGIN:Throughout Alaska, Canada, Greenland, New York, Michigan, Minnesota, California, Eurasia.
