SPREAD:20 - 30 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Pyramidal form; wide spreading, graceful branches; bright green to bluish-green foliage, bronzy in winter; noted for its reddish bark, which peels off in long strips; cones small .5"-1" long; moist, well-drained, acidic soil; full sun, will tolerate light shade.
LIMITATIONS:Requires shelter from strong winds and abundant moisture.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 5)
ORIGIN:Japan and China.
CULTIVARS:Numerous, but local availability uncertain.
