DISTINCTIONS:Dwarf ground cover 6" high by 12" wide; large showy pink flowers; oval shaped leaves with rust colored undersides; leaves in whorls at the ends of the stems; tolerates some shade and moist soil.
LIMITATIONS:Difficult to grow in a garden situation, best in its native conditions; does not withstand being walked on.
HARDINESS:SC, SE, W (Zone 5)
ORIGIN:Alaska Peninsula, Kodiak Island to the tip of the Aleutians; Cordova to the northern part of Southeast; east Asia and Japan.
