DISTINCTIONS:Shapely, well-branched; dull, dark green foliage; medium texture; inconspicuous flowers in clusters of 2-5; black fruit; scarlet red to maroon fall color; hardy; tolerates shade; easily pruned for a hedge; similar to Cotoneaster lucidus.
LIMITATIONS:Susceptible to spider mites.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zone 4)
ORIGIN:Northwestern China, Mongolia, and eastern Himalayans
