DISTINCTIONS:Narrow graceful habit; yellow fall color; grayish-white bark with dark lenticels; closely related to, and often confused with, Betula pendula; differences are finely serrated leaves, more upright branching habit, and downy shoots; does well on poorly drained soils including peat and clay.
LIMITATIONS:Susceptible to pests.
HARDINESS:SE, SC (Zone 2)
ORIGIN:Northern Europe, Northern Asia
