DISTINCTIONS:Ornamental appeal in all seasons; multi-stemmed with silver bark; purplish bronze young leaves turning green in summer then orange to red autumn color; pink flower buds become white flowers on long 4” racemes; sweet edible purplish black fruit that draws birds; full sun to partial shade; tolerates a range of soils.
LIMITATIONS: Can be a host for apple (serviceberry)/cedar rust; susceptible to leaf spot

CULTIVARS:‘Autumn Brilliance' Fast growing tree to 20’ with vivid red fall color.; ‘Ballerina’ upright large shrub to 15’; purple bronze to brick red autumn leaf color.; ‘Princess Diana’ multi-stemmed or single stemmed to 20’; abundant white flowers; excellent red autumn leaf color.; ‘Robin Hill’ single stemmed tree to 25’; flowers are pink in cooler climates; autumn leaf color yellow to red.; ‘Rubescens’ purple-pink flower buds opening to light pink; orange-red autumn leaf color.
