DISTINCTIONS:Distinction: Upswept, spreading branches; upright habit; long-lived species; needles in clusters of 5; needles 2"–2.5" long; edible pine nuts.
LIMITATIONS:Prefers well-drained soils.
ORIGIN:Mountains of western United States and Canada.
