SPREAD:25 - 35 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Conical form; similar to white spruce in appearance; short needles a dull grayish green; prefers well-drained soil, will tolerate occasional wetness, clay soil, and a broad pH range; manages to survive ice storms; prefers sun.
LIMITATIONS:Availability limited; a few trees growing in Anchorage.
HARDINESS:SC, SE (Zone 5)
ORIGIN:Small area in eastern China.
