DISTINCTIONS:Cultivars grown as landscape plants, the species is seldom grown; striking blue color; unusual shape with central leader leaning slightly off center; branch tips bend down slightly; sun; well-drained soil.
LIMITATIONS:Old brown needles retained, looks messy.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 4)
ORIGIN:Afghanistan, Himalayas, western China.
CULTIVARS:‘Blue Carpet’ Mutation of ‘Meyeri’; 8"-12" tall, 4'-5' wide. ‘Blue Star’ Low, rounded plant; slow growing; 3' tall, 3'-4' wide. ‘Meyeri’ Fishtail juniper; blue-green needles; upright habit; grows 5'-15' tall.
