DISTINCTIONS:Short needles with fine lines down the center top; very hardy; edible fruit.
LIMITATIONS:Brownish-olive winter color; needs excellent drainage.
HARDINESS:INT, SC, SE (Zone 2)
ORIGIN:Widely distributed in Alaska and other U.S. states, Asia, Europe, and Canada.
CULTIVARS:‘Depressa’ Prostrate juniper; low and spreading; grows to 3' tall. ‘Effusa’ Semi-prostrate, wide spreading; grows to 1' tall; needles remain green in winter. var. saxatilis Dwarf, mat-forming; 1'-2' tall.
