DISTINCTIONS:Fine textured ground cover, 6" to 2' high; tiny green leaves; small urn shaped flowers, rosy to purplish pink; prefers acidic, moist, well-drained soils with low fertility; blooms best in full sun but will grow in partial shade; prune in spring before new growth starts; green to bronze winter color.
LIMITATIONS:Fertilized plants become scraggly; avoid windy areas; snow cover helps winter survival.
HARDINESS:SE (Zone 4)
ORIGIN:Europe and Asia Minor.
CULTIVARS:Hundreds of cultivars available.
