       Evergreen Shrub
HEIGHT:1 - 2 feet
SPREAD:2 - 6 feet
DISTINCTIONS:2 needles per bundle, 3"-6" long, straight or curved; cones 2"-3" long; tolerates a wide range of soils, including clay and an alkaline pH, prefers moisture but will tolerate some dryness; prefers sun.
LIMITATIONS:
HARDINESS: SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN: Europe from Austria to Greece and central Italy.
CULTIVARS:‘Hornibrookiana’ Low mounding shrub; white tipped buds in winter; grows slowiy, becoming 2' tall and 6' wide.; ‘Pygmaea’ Dwarf globose form growing only 4" per year. See entry under Evergreen Trees.
