LIMITATIONS:Requires high moisture, maritime climate.
HARDINESS: SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN: Coastal forests in southern and Southeast Alaska, Afognak Island and the northern half of Kodiak Island; south along the Pacific coast to northwestern California.
CULTIVARS:‘Papoose’ Rounded but flat-topped form; unusual foliage color, upper sides are bluish-silver, lower sides dark green; grows 18"-24" tall and wide.; ‘Tenas’ Similar to ‘Papoose’ but with a faster growth rate; selected from witches broom on Vancouver Island.
