DISTINCTIONS:Species is a tree to 90' tall slender, conical crown; shiny light green needles; dark, red-brown bark.
LIMITATIONS:Tree is not available in the nursery trade except as seed but cultivars are available.
HARDINESS: SC, SE (Zone 3)
ORIGIN: Northeastern United States with small area north to Canada and south to Tennessee
CULTIVARS:‘HB’ Round, ball-like shape; tiny green needles; 18” by 18”; (Zone 5).;‘Pocono’ Cushion type plant found in the Pocono Mountains; small, gray-green needles; 2’ high by 1' wide. See entry under Evergreen Trees.
