SPREAD:1 - 3 feet
DISTINCTIONS:Species is tree form with irregular, columnar habit; tolerates cold, wet soils but grows well in upland soils.
LIMITATIONS:Very slow growth may be a limitation.
HARDINESS: INT, SC, SE, W (Zone 2)
ORIGIN: Central, interior, and western Alaska and into Canada from the northern limits of trees south to British Columbia, Manitoba, Minnesota and New Jersey.
CULTIVARS:‘Ericoides’ Rounded mound; 1.5' tall but can trail to 3'; very thin, bluish-grey needles (Zone 3).; ‘Nana’ Blue nest spruce, grows broader than tall; blue needles, 3' tall.
