DISTINCTIONS:Large shrub or small tree; reddish bark; clusters of white flowers in spring; orange to red fruit 11 to 15 stalkless leaflets; shade tolerant; orange-red fall color.
LIMITATIONS:Needs well-drained soil; a favorite moose food; may die back to the ground in winter.
HARDINESS: INT, SC, SE, W (Zone 2)
ORIGIN: Interior, Southcentral and Southeast Alaska; British Columbia to Alberta, South Dakota, New Mexico and California
