DISTINCTIONS:Broad pyramidal or oval crown; foliage looks more like alder than mountain ash; leaves are leathery, gray-green to dark green on top, white and hairy beneath; flower clusters white, 2"-3" across; fruit is orange-red or scarlet; grows on alkaline soil; sun; fall color varies from light green to golden brown to red.
